WHAT IS BLU-RAY: Blu-Ray is the next generation in movies. it's better than DVD'S because each Disc can hold up to 50GB of data. Currently you can only play Blu-Rays on a Blu-Ray player.
WHAT IS A BLU-RAY PLAYER: A Blu-Ray Player is designed for playing blu-rays but it can also play regular DVD'S as well. In order to achieve maximum performance of the player you need a Hi-Def TV like a LCD, DLP, PLASM, OR LED. Blu-Ray players can also only go up to 1080p for resolution.
WHAT IS A HDMI PORT: Hi-DEF Televisions have what is called an HDMI port, The HDMI port is what you will connect your player to the TV in order to use it. Hi-Def TVs can go currently up to 1080P for maximum resolution. A HDMI is a flat square cable that connects most of our electronics to the Television. On the Television the HDMI is a square port that you will use to connect your device to, all electronics use this today because you get a better signal to your television.
HOW MUCH DOES A BLU-RAY PLAYER COST: Blu-Ray players will range in price from $150 to 1000 dollars.
WHAT IS A MULTI REGION FREE BLU-RAY PLAYER: A multi region free player means that you can play any blu-ray or DVD in the player. There are no restrictions on this. Some blu-Ray multi region free players can also play PAL as well. You can play all movies from around the world.
WHAT ARE REGION ZONES: A region zone is what the movie will play in, for example If you buy a movie in UK then it will only play in the UK, unless you have a multi region free player.
COST OF A MULTI REGION FREE BLU-RAY PLAYER: They will range from $300 to 1000 dollars.
WHAT IS THE CAPACITY OF A BLU-RAY DISC? Blu-Ray Discs can hold data from 25GB up to 50GB of Data.
CAN YOU BURN ONTO A BLU-RAY DISC? No currently in the USA you can only play movies on a blu-ray player. You cannot burn a blu-ray disc. But If you can buy a blu-ray disc burner for your PC and burn them that way but they can be expensive even If they are internal. Blank Blu-Ray Discs are also very expensive like 1 disc can cost you around $1.00 for one. A ten pack of them could cost you up to $70 dollars.
